Vizus Project – CEB Civil Engineering Building

The design of the Civil Engineering faculty building in Cambridge is distinctive for its concept, showing the future students all the power and potential of engineering thinking. The entrance to the building was conceived as a glazed portal of laminated wood columns 8m high, tied to the building with specially designed steel anchors, mutually connected with steel horizontals. The entrance itself is made of aluminum profiles and glass. The portal represents a symbiosis of static characteristics of the constitutive materials. The entire portal, except the revolving door, was made in the Vizus factory.
